As of Monday 24 August, fridges and freezers are able to be accepted at the recycling centre and on bulky non gamstop casino waste collections. No booking is required to visit the Reuse shops whether donating reuseable items or buying items. Occasionally, slots may be fully booked; for example, over a busy bank holiday.
On the day of travel, head towards security and follow the signs for « Prebook Security” where you’ll find a team member ready and waiting to welcome you. The site must close at the times stated. You will be unable to open containers on site and will need to book a slot to arrange collection. A booking system is in place at Churchfields Road Reuse and Recycling Centre. This follows on from neighbouring authorities, who all have successful booking systems in place. A booking can be made on behalf of another resident, such as an elderly relative or someone without access to the internet.
Cancel or change a booking

Each time you register, you surrender personal details to a database that, according to a 2023 breach report, was accessed by an unauthorised party 12 times in a single year. Imagine you’re midway through a 3‑minute slot round, the timer blinks red, and you’re forced to abandon a potential win. It must be within 31 days before the footage is deleted from the system.
Please cancel as soon as you can to free up the slot for someone else. Unenclosed, single axle trailers under 2 metres long can visit our Yate, Mangotsfield and Thornbury sites. Some items are not accepted at all our centres.

If you use Prebook Security, we are unable to guarantee the time it will take to undertake security checks through the Airport Security area. You can pre-book this service from 4 days before your arrival, right up until 60 minutes before you arrive at security (subject to availability). You will need a booking to visit the site.
